Area Access has earned the service industry’s coveted Angie’s List Super Service Award, reflecting an exemplary year of service provided to members of the consumer review service in 2013.
“Only about 5 percent of the companies Area Access competes with in the Mid-Atlantic Region are able to earn our Super Service Award,” said Angie’s List Founder Angie Hicks. “It’s a mark of consistently great customer service.”
Angie’s List Super Service Award 2013 winners have met strict eligibility requirements, which include an “A” rating in overall grade, recent grade, and review period grade; the company must be in good standing with Angie’s List, have a fully complete profile, pass a background check and abide by Angie’s List operational guidelines.
Service company ratings are updated daily on Angie’s List. Companies are graded on an A through F scale in areas ranging from price to professionalism to punctuality. Members can find the 2013 Super Service Award logo next to company names in search results on AngiesList.com.
The revolutionary technology of the vacuum elevator has changed the way people and goods are being transported vertically within their homes, and furthermore has done so in an environmentally friendly manner. Rather than using cables or pistons, the vacuum elevator is powered by one of the most abundant resources in the world… AIR!
MINIMAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION
The vacuum elevator uses gravity to descend, drawing no electricity, and minimal energy consumption when ascending with 220 Volt turbines (standard model draws 4.7 kilowatts).
LOW MAINTENANCE WITH NO OILS OR LUBRICANTS REQUIRED
As the vacuum elevator does not use any pistons or cables, there is no need for routine service calls to lubricate the elevator with oil or other harmful products.
With very few moving parts and minimal wear and tear, the only required maintenance on the vacuum elevator is the main seal that needs to be replaced roughly every 15,000 rides or about four to five years in an average household.
MINIMAL CONSTRUCTION AND FOOTPRINT
Very few materials and pre-construction required because the self-supporting unit does not require a shaft, pit or machine room.
PORTABLE ELEVATOR
The vacuum elevator is capable of being uninstalled and moved to another location within the existing home, or to another home.
HERE ARE SOME THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN STAIR LIFT SHOPPING
There are all kinds of stairway lifts available to fit different applications, from a straight half-flight to a four-story spiral. While it’s important to select the right unit for your situation, it’s just as important to carefully select the company from which you buy that unit. Installing a stairway lift might look simple to the untrained eye, but technicians who have been doing it for decades will tell you that it isn’t. Below are some points to keep in mind as you begin your search for stairway lifts.
Stairway Configuration: straight or curved.
Unit Features: folding rail, wide seat, color, etc.
Buy or Rent: Are you planning to stay in your home or do you plan on moving? Is the stairway lift need temporary or long term?
New or Used: If you are on a budget, a good way to keep costs down is to consider purchasing a used unit.
Choosing a Company: Do they offer free consultations? Do they have a showroom with units on display to see and try? Do they offer maintenance or service the units? Will they be in business down the road when you need part or battery?

"Area Access has always been there for us…scooters, lifts for the vehicle, chair lifts in the home. I have recommended them to any and all who inquire about my equipment. Often give out their business cards. Folks are all very helpful and kind."
"I have been a customer of Area Access since 1999. I was introduced to Area Access by a friend who had been a customer (handicap scooter) for years. The personnel are friendly and knowledgeable of those mobility items that are helpful to those of us who have handicapping disabilities."
